HERDSA Reports - Day 1
Flew into Darwin on the afternoon of Monday 6th July and checked into my hotel. Went to the Conference reception at 6pm at Parliament House. Met up with colleagues there, and had meat pie au dervs and cold beer. The local aboriginal tribal leader welcomed us onto their traditional homeland and treated us with local aboriginal dances. This was followed by a trio of students from Charles Darwin University who gave us their personal insights into the ‘student experience’. Nice way to start the conference.
